Tabla de parentescos de don Fernando de Castilla, Regidor de La Palma (s. xvi)

Don Fernando de Castilla (Ferdinand of Castile), third great-grandson of the King of Castile and León, Pedro the Cruel and grandson of Joan of Avis, daughter of Duarte the Eloquent, King of Portugal, was born in Alcalá de Henares and came to the Canary Islands in 1514 when his cousin Maria of Castile married Guillen Peraza, Count of Gomera. He was alderman of La Palma from 1534 and second lieutenant of this island. He purchased this commission from Antonio de Mendoza and later transferred it to his grandson, Bernard of Riverol and Castile. This website shows the result of over twenty years of research, in which a large contingent of those who were his ancestors, direct descendants, collateral descendants and even some mythical and biblical genealogies were collected. This work would not have been possible without the valuable collaboration of the following friends: Pilar Luisa Brito Concepción, Karen Cabrera, Pedro Javier Castañeda García, Horacio Concepción García, Mamen Enríquez Sánchez-Gómez, Jo-Anne Ferreira, Manuel Garrido Abolafia, Luis Agustin Hernandez Martin, Pablo Hernandez, Antonio Lorenzo Tena, Carolina Mederos, Arsenio Morales, Goyo Ortega de la Mano, Ángel Luis Pérez, Juan Ramón Pérez Martínez, Carmen Pérez Santos, Manuel Poggio Capote, Miguel Ribera del Pueyo, Miguel Santiago, Chantal Sobieniak, Manuel Solano, Anna-Lisa Sosa and José Pablo Vergara as well as the members of following groups: GENEALOGÍA CANARIA, GENLAPALMA, GENCADIZ, RAÍCES DEL REINO DE VALENCIA and PATRIMOINEETGENEALOGIE-AUDE, and the parish priests of Breña Alta, Breña Baja and Mazo (La Palma) and Orgaz (Toledo). To all of them, my sincere thanks. F. Martín, Webmaster
